K-13

This one was fun and it's very cute!

Print or trace the block diagram onto foundation paper, number, and cut out as in the photo. Don't worry about the center square too much. We're going to piece that one.

Cut two 4"x1 1/4" strips out of background fabric.
Cut one 3"x1 1/4" strip out of background fabric.
Cut two 3"x1 1/4" strips out of main fabric.
Cut one 4"x1 1/4" strip out of main fabric.

Sew the strips together as below.

Out of the longer strip, cut two sections 1 1/4" wide.
Out of the shorter strip, cut one section 1 1/4" wide.

Sew the three strips together to form a nine patch square.

Set aside the square.
Foundation piece the numbered sections and trim all seam allowances to 1/4".

Sew together the center square and two smaller side retangles.

Attach the larger rectangles to the top and bottom.

Cute!
